Weather in Paphos
When is the best time to visit Paphos? Well, it really depends on the type of weather you want to experience during your stay and the kind of activities you are looking forward to. Most tourists flock to Paphos during the summer months to enjoy the beach but others prefer not to join the busiest tourist season. They can either visit during the late spring just before the tourist population builds up or visit Paphos in the early fall when most tourists have left.
What is the weather like all-year round in Paphos. To start with, January and February are the true winter months of Paphos. However, don’t expect to have snow falling here. The winter nights can go down to as low as seven degrees Celsius and that’s all there is to it. The winter months is mostly made up of several rainy days and often quite windy. The sea is a bit cold for swimming.
The month of March is in between the season of spring and summer because some days are warm and sunny and other times it can also be cold and rainy. You will definitely need a jumper or coat in the evening because it can be cold while going out. You can also go for a swim but the sea water is not as warm as the water during summertime.

April’s weather is similar to an English summer. Sunny days can get very hot but rainy days are also bound to happen. The early days of April makes the sea not too warm and not too cold but warm enough for summer swimming by the end of the month.
The months of May and June are very hot and sunny, truly a beach bum’s paradise. Paphos has very little chance of any prolonged rain during these months. The resorts’ swimming pools and the sea water are very warm at this time. The tourist crowd begins to pour in and reservations in accommodation as well as in restaurants are a must especially when traveling with large groups.
The peak season of summertime in Paphos is during the months of July and August when the weather is very hot and sunny with no rain. Sometimes there will be short thunderstorms during these hot months because of the extreme weather conditions. The water in the air collides with the overwhelming heat thus causing thunderstorms.

The extreme summer heat begins to cool down a bit and just like the months of May and June, September and October are the perfect months for summer vacation. The early September celebration of Aphrodite’s Festival makes Paphos one of the most preferred vacation spots in Cyprus during this time. The seaside will be surely filled with tourists that are sun bathing and swimming in the warm sea water.
November and December in Paphos has a similar weather with that of the month of April. Most people who wanted to avoid the huge crowds of tourists visit Paphos during these months just before the winter cold come in.
